We made it! We survived the 15.5 hour ferry ride from Brindisi, Italy to Patras, Greece without freezing to death!

It's kind of hard to see, but that dark line was our route across the Ionian Sea.
The main reason for our survival was that we pretended that we didn't know that having purchased tickets for deck seats meant that we were to be seated on the deck, and came inside for most of the ride. I don't think anyone minded; the
Ionian Queen was not nearly full to capacity, and we weren't hurting anyone curled up in a corner with all of our stuff. We happily began the voyage outside, grateful that the night wasn't as cold or rainy as we had feared, but once the boat began moving and the wind picked up it became almost impossible to stand without being blown over and certainly impossible to remain on the deck without getting soaked.

What a nice corner! Good night!
Once we arrived on Grecian land, transportation has been going very smoothly! We're excited to be leaving TrenItalia behind. On every trip with the Italian train company, including our last, we experienced delays and cancellations. In fact, we barely made it onto the ferry on time because of a train cancellation. Here's hoping that our luck with Greece transportation continues and that our week of travel around the the Peloponnese Island won't be affected by any strikes!

Alan risked being blown over on the deck for this sunrise shot. Pretty, isn't it?
