There is a train from Palma north to Soller several times daily. It's used by Mallorquins too, but there are several trains on the schedule that are designed for tourists, even with a photo op. stop along the way. We took one such train on Saturday. It was a rainy day, so it was really the perfect activity for watching the beautiful countryside roll by from a train window. As recommended to us, we sat in the very back seat and stepped outside to watch from the back periodically.

There's not too much to do in Soller, though it's a pretty town. We walked around the touristy market, and then walked the 4 km to Port de Soller. There we had our first dose of Spanish paella! We love it, and will definitely split a plate of it in the future again sometime. We walked up and down the port, looking for a way to access a run-down lighthouse in the distance. The windy roads kept leading us to gated residential communities, so we turned to the murky beach for entertainment for the end of the afternoon.
